2011 TEAM TRIALS APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE

   
USA Roller Sports is pleased to announce that World Team Trials will be conducted from May 13-15, 2011 at the BladeRunner's Complex, 66 Alpha Drive West, Harmarville, PA 15238 - (412) 826-0800. Final Selection will be made during these Trials for the Senior Teams. This represents one of two opportunities for evaluation of Junior athletes, one in the East and one in the West (see below).
   
XVII – FIRS SENIOR MEN'S INLINE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - Roccaraso, Italy - July 9 - July 17, 2011 - (Competition July 11-16) A team consisting of 16 players (including two goalies) will be selected to participate (2 of the 16 are fully self-funded positions).
   
Senior Men's Team Eligibility: By invitation only. Eligible male players must have competed in the following 2010 events: AAU 2010 Junior Olympics Championships, AAU 2010 Winter National Championships (All Sanctioned Events), ESPN/AAU Memorial Championships, USARS/AAU West Coach 2010 National Club Championships, AAU AIHL Elite Men's League - athlete must have must have competed in at least 14 games in either the 2010 or 2011 AIHL season.

In addition, athletes must meet the following criteria:
 
Athlete will be a current member of USA Roller Sports by virtue of their registration for the Team USA tryouts. Membership expires annually on December 31
Passport proof of U.S. citizenship required - only U.S. citizens are eligible to represent our country at the FIRS World Championships
   
FIRS SENIOR WOMEN'S INLINE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – Roccaraso, Italy - July 1 - July 10, 2011 - (Competition July 4-9) A team consisting of 14 athletes (including two goalies) will be selected to participate (2 of which are fully self-funded positions).
   
Eligibility: Open Trials - participation in a pre-qualifying event is not required. Female athletes must meet the following criteria:
 
Athletes must be 14 years of age or older.
Athlete will be a current member of USA Roller Sports by virtue of their registration   for the tryouts. Membership expires annually on December 31.
Passport proof of U.S. citizenship required - only U.S. citizens are eligible to represent our country at the FIRS World Championships.
   

FIRS JUNIOR WOMEN'S INLINE HOCKEY WORLD CUP - Huntington Beach, California - Competition July 4-7, 2011; Checkin/Practice - July 3rd. A 14 member team (including two goalies) will be selected to participate (plus 2 non-participating alternates). Junior Women's Team members must pay all of their own expenses to participate.

FIRS JUNIOR MEN'S INLINE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - Roccaraso, Italy - July 1 - July 10, 2011. (Competition July 4-9) A 14 member team (including two goalies) will be selected to participate (2 non-participating alternates will also be named). Junior Men's Team Members must pay all of their own expenses to participate.

Junior Inline Hockey Athlete Eligibility: Open Trials - participation in a pre-qualifying event is not required. Two tryout locations and dates available.

Athletes must be 14 years of age or older and cannot have reached their 19th birthday as of January 1, 2011 and qualify by gender.

Athlete will be a current member of USA Roller Sports by virtue of their registration for the tryouts (application enclosed).  Membership expires annually on December 31.
Passport proof of U.S. citizenship required, only U.S. citizens are eligible to represent our country at the FIRS World Championships/Cups.
East Trials:
May 13-15, 2011 at BladeRunner's Complex, 66 Alpha Drive West, Harmarville, PA 15238 - (412) 826-0800 (during these same dates and at the same location, trials will also be conducted to select the Senior Men and the Senior Women's Inline Hockey World Teams)
West Trials:
May 21-22, 2011 at The Rink, 4325 Prado Road, Corona, CA 92880 - (951) 279-7465
 

PARTICIPANT FEE FOR ALL TRIALS: $150.00, which includes full USA Roller Sports membership for 2011. An additional $75 late fee shall be required with applications received after April 1, 2011. No Applications accepted after MAY 6 – No on-site registration accepted.

Invitations will be sent out via e-mail to nominated senior male athletes who qualify through participation in the events named above.

• This event is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.
• All participants must have a current AAU membership.
• AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event.
• AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connection.
• Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their membership.

The event operator is an independent contractor and is responsible for the management and conduct of the event and may set its own rules and operating procedures, except under no circumstances can the host waive the requirement of membership in AAU for participation in sanctioned events.

By the AAU's granting of (a) sanction (an approval) to any event operator (Host) to conduct such event, the AAU does not accept any financial responsibility nor assure any particular quality of competition.

The AAU of the U.S., Inc. does have supervision over District qualifying events, Regional/Super Regional events, and/or National Championship events in regard to establishing rules of competition, but does not have direct control over the event operators, pursuant and subject to the AAU Code (only).

The AAU does provide insurance benefits to its members in specified situations, subject to the terms of its policies.
